Creating an Environment Where Language Flourishes
- A Resource for Elementary Classroom Teachers

Use for training purposes only. Book available here.

This lesson shows how the teacher helps the students fortify their output. The focus is on " short output" or oral and written output that students use to communicate their ideas to accomplish a task (as opposed to "end-product output" which consist of larger tasks like writing an essay, creating a poster or a presentation) (p.156)
Also, notice how the teacher does not overdo sentence frames and starters. When working on academic language development, sentence starters must be used just enough-ly. (p.156)
