EL Service Expectations in our District:
 

• EL services supplement and do not supplant content instruction.

• Services align with a content area and are provided during academic classes.

• Services are informed by formative language assessment and ACCESS data in the reading, writing, listening and speaking domains.

• All ELD lessons include: language objectives, academic language practice, strategies that support language development, connection to grade-level content standards, connection to WIDA ELD standards

• Every EL-identified student on the eligibility list receives service unless a service refusal form is on file.

• Grouping and instruction are differentiated according to student needs.
